TaleMonster Games, a mobile game development studio, has successfully secured $7 million in seed funding. The studio is launched by former Peak Games talents Irem Sumer, Emre Yanık, Berk Yaşar, Simay Kahraman, and Eren Sarıçiçek.
As per the official announcement made on Wednesday, global investment company General Catalyst led the seed round, with participation from a16z Speedrun, Arcadia Gaming Partners, and Ludus Ventures.
The backing reflects confidence in TaleMonster’s creative approach to casual gaming, a space often criticized for stagnation and over-optimization. It will also accelerate the development of their debut titles, including Match Valley, the company’s upcoming match-3 game.
Akin Babayigit, Managing Director at Arcadia Gaming Partners, praised the team’s speed and originality: “I’ve been with TaleMonster Games since day one. It’s rare to find a team this focused, creative, and fast-moving, they’re setting new standards for casual puzzle games.” He also expressed that he’s “truly excited for what’s next.”
Zeynep Yavuz, Partner at General Catalyst, emphasized the studio’s ability to revive fun in casual gaming: “TaleMonster is on a mission to bring back the fun with unexpected twists, evolving gameplay, and challenges that grow with the player.“
Ludus Ventures’ General Partner İsmet Gökşen echoed this excitement, writing on LinkedIn: “It’s not easy to crack the next big thing in casual puzzle, but we believe TaleMonster Games has all the right pieces.”
TaleMonster plans to use this momentum to redefine the casual puzzle genre and deliver experiences that evolve with players.
