Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is making its way deeper into Azerbaijan’s esports scene. The Azerbaijan Esports Federation (AZESF) has officially joined hands with MOONTON Games, the creators of MLBB, to grow the game’s presence in the country.
The two sides have teamed up to give players more opportunities to compete, improve, and enjoy one of the world’s biggest mobile esports titles. For the first time, an official MLBB tournament will be held in Azerbaijan this September 2025, with online qualifiers leading to a live final.
That’s just the start as AZESF also plans to add MLBB to its University Esports Circuit, letting students represent their schools in structured competitions. Beyond that, you can expect regular community cups, training programs, and even events for streamers and creators to get involved.
“This partnership is a commitment to the youth of Azerbaijan, providing structure, opportunity, and visibility to MLBB players,” said Ogtay Gasimzada, President of AZESF.
Ajay Jilka, Head of Esports, Eastern Europe & Central Asia, and Emerging Markets at MOONTON Games added, “We are honored to support esports growth in Azerbaijan, aiming to nurture future MLBB talent and build an inclusive, sustainable ecosystem for the community.”
With more than 1.5 billion downloads and millions of active players, MLBB has grown into one of the world’s biggest mobile esports titles. The goal is simple: to build a strong and sustainable MLBB community in Azerbaijan.
By working with local partners and leaning on MOONTON’s global esports experience, the federation wants to give you more ways to play, compete, and even dream of making it to international tournaments like the M Series or Mid Season Cup.
