InnoGames is stepping into a new chapter with a major leadership shift. Starting October 1, 2025, Chief Product Officer Christian Reshöft will take on the role of CEO, while co-founder Hendrik Klindworth moves into strategic leadership at parent company MTG.
Klindworth, who has guided InnoGames for more than 18 years, will now serve as Chairman of the Board at InnoGames and as Executive Chairman of MTG’s newly created Midcore District. His focus will be on driving growth and fostering collaboration between MTG’s midcore studios while still helping shape InnoGames’ future.
Hendrik Klindworth said that after almost two decades at the helm, it is the right moment to hand over operational responsibility to Christian. He added: “He has played a decisive role in shaping InnoGames over many years and is the ideal person to lead the company into the future. I am very much looking forward to driving our strategy forward at the group level and combining the strengths of the midcore studios in the District.”
Reshöft, who joined InnoGames in 2013, has played a key role in shaping its portfolio and served as CPO for the last five years. “Following in Hendrik’s footsteps is a task I approach with great respect, but also with enormous motivation. He has shaped InnoGames as an outstanding entrepreneur. We will continue on our successful course by focusing on profitable, organic growth and further expanding our core competencies,” said Christian Reshöft.
Co-founders Michael Zillmer (Chief Operating Officer) and Eike Klindworth (Creative Director) add: “Hendrik’s move to these strategic positions is a logical and well-deserved step. His comprehensive expertise, many years of experience, and unwavering passion for the gaming industry make him the ideal candidate.”
“Christian, who has been working closely and trustingly with us for over a decade, is stepping up to take over the reins. His outstanding product vision and deep understanding of InnoGames guarantee continuity and fresh impetus. We stand fully behind him and will support him to the best of our ability as he leads us into the future.”
During our chat with Christian, then CPO, he highlighted how “data tells us what they do; the community tells us why.” He emphasized that this constant feedback loop is what allows InnoGames to adapt and expand its games without losing its core. He is a firm believer in “long-term growth beats chasing hits,” a principle that continues to guide the studio’s vision.
