Scorbit has taken a major step forward, confirming a seed round of more than $5 million as it works to bridge classic arcade experiences with modern connected play.

The round was led by Detroit Venture Partners, joined by Grand Ventures, Weiser Family Office, Michigan Rise, Invest Detroit Ventures, Eberg Capital, Ann Arbor SPARK, Mudita Venture Partners Fund II LLC, Precursor Ventures, Side Door Ventures, Wakestream Ventures, and Gambit Ventures, along with several angel and individual investors.

A notable list of early supporters also converted from Scorbit’s pre-seed round, including figures like Matthew Prince from Cloudflare, Matt Mullenweg , Marissa Mayer, Mike McCarthy, Bevan Slattery, First Round Capital’s Rob Hayes, Jordan Lowe, and HashiCorp’s Robert Abbott.

Scorbit is led by co-founders Jay Adelson and Ron Richards. Adelson is well known for his work building companies like Equinix and Digg, while Richards brings experience from the media and entertainment world, including Marvel and Disney.

This funding allows Scorbit to expand its Ann Arbor team, complete its MVP, and push ahead on new hardware initiatives such as the Scorbit Console, a platform designed for venues looking to modernize their gaming setup.

On the user side, you can expect more competitive modes, global play support, and improved tools for tracking gameplay and progression. With this seed funding secured, Scorbit plans to prepare for a Series A in 2026.
