The casual gaming landscape has a new titan of scale. Hungry Studio announced today that its flagship puzzle title, Block Blast!, has reached a massive milestone of 70 million Daily Active Users (DAU) and 300 million Monthly Active Users (MAU) globally.
While many mobile games rely on fleeting viral moments, Hungry Studio’s ascent appears to be the result of a rigorous, “science-first” approach to game design.
The Engine Behind the Growth: 10,000 Experiments
The studio revealed that its massive scale is supported by a disciplined experimentation system. In 2025 alone, the team conducted more than 10,000 A/B tests focused on gameplay, progression, and user experience. At any given moment, the studio is running over 300 parallel experiments to fine-tune the player journey.
We view experimentation as the foundation for understanding players. Block Blast! may look simple, but it is powered by an extensive A/B testing framework – Jason Wang, VP of Brand & Marketing at Hungry Studio
The studio developed Block AI, a proprietary user behavior simulation platform. This tool allows for high-density automated testing before updates ever reach the public, reducing post-launch issues by over 50%.
The game is currently active in over 200 countries and holds the No. 1 rank in the Puzzle category across more than 40 markets.
Apple recently recognised the title’s popularity by including it on the App Store’s list of most-downloaded iPhone games of 2025 in the U.S.

A Shift from Single-Mode to Ecosystem
Since its initial launch in 2021, Block Blast! has evolved from a basic “drag-match-eliminate” puzzle into a sophisticated multi-mode experience. This evolution has allowed the game to maintain “instant accessibility” while providing the depth needed for long-term player retention.
Looking forward, Hungry Studio plans to double down on its technical advantages. The company’s roadmap includes deeper investments in AI-driven experimentation and an exploration of new platform and monetization capabilities, all while keeping the core player experience as the primary focus.
