  • Roblox appoints John Ciancutti as its first Chief Growth Officer alongside four new regional General Managers.
  • New leadership hires focus on accelerating international expansion and creator ecosystem growth.
  • The appointments strengthen Roblox’s regional presence across Europe, India, Latin America, and MENA/Türkiye.

Roblox has announced a major expansion of its leadership team, appointing John Ciancutti as the company’s first-ever Chief Growth Officer (CGO) alongside four new regional General Managers. The appointments are part of Roblox’s plan “to position the company for accelerated global growth”.

The appointments were officially revealed by Roblox on May 13, 2026, with the company stating that the new leadership structure is aimed at accelerating international expansion and strengthening creator ecosystems across major markets.

Ciancutti will oversee Roblox’s Discovery and International teams, focusing on personalization, content discovery, and global product growth. He joins Roblox with experience from companies including Netflix, Meta, and Amazon Music, where he previously worked on large-scale consumer product and recommendation systems.

According to Roblox, Ciancutti’s role will center around improving the platform’s discovery systems while helping scale the company’s international reach through closer regional collaboration.

“Joining Roblox is a chance to build the future of play. As CGO, my priority is to help optimize our sophisticated Discovery technology and drive international expansion with the on-the-ground expertise of our new regional leadership. I’m excited to support the product innovation necessary to help more people around the world discover the games that resonate most with them,” shared Ciancutti.

Alongside the CGO appointment, Roblox also named four new regional General Managers: Joost Hagesteijn for Europe, Sunil Rao for India, Diego Dzodan for Latin America, and Mohamed El Sheakh for the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye.

The company revealed that in Q1 2026, the number of Roblox developers generating revenue in India grew 71% year-over-year, while Latin America saw a 56% increase during the same period. Europe, meanwhile, currently accounts for more than 28 million daily active users on the platform. So expanding even further in these regions makes sense.

Each of the new executives brings experience from major technology and platform companies. Their backgrounds include leadership roles at Snap, AWS, Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Nokia, and venture investment firms.

Roblox has been steadily expanding its global footprint over the past few years, with increased emphasis on localized partnerships, creator monetization, and regional ecosystem development. The company is now looking at building a more structured regional leadership strategy as it continues scaling internationally.
