Game creation is about to feel a lot more fun. Nilo Technologies, a startup founded in 2024, has raised $4 million in seed funding to bring its browser-based AI-powered 3D platform to life.
The round is led by Supercell Investments, with support from a16z speedrun and several other big investors. Founded by Nuno Leiria in 2024, the company is now preparing to bring AI-native 3D creation to more audiences.
Nilo allows you to create games directly in your browser. Using text, images, or even voice prompts, you can instantly generate characters, worlds, and code. It also supports real-time multiplayer, letting you build and play together with friends instantly.
What makes Nilo stand out is its focus on accessibility. Traditional tools like Unreal Engine and Unity are powerful but often too complex for beginners. Nilo wants to lower that barrier so anyone can bring their ideas to life.
Supercell says it backs teams capable of creating category-defining products, and Nilo “have ‘it’ in spades“. They added, “Among a long list of things that impressed us, their approach to making game creation as engaging as gameplay stood out most.”
Founder and CEO Nuno Leiria shared, “We started Nilo with a simple idea: making a game should be as fun as playing one. With this funding, we’re moving faster towards giving the next generation of builders the tools to create and share instantly and with more joy.”
The company has already opened its closed Early Access program and is inviting “Founding Builders” to join through its Discord.
