  • Tripledot Studios AppLovin's gaming division acquisition confirmed at $800 million.
  • The acquisition boosts Tripledot's portfolio with top studios like Machine Zone, PeopleFun, and Lion Studios.
  • Tripledot operates 12 studios globally with 25 million daily active users and nearly $2 billion in revenue.

Mobile game developer Tripledot Studios has acquired AppLovin’s games business in a deal valued at around $800 million, marking one of the largest mobile gaming acquisitions in recent years.

As per reports, the deal is split into $400 million in cash and 20% of Tripledot’s equity, which will make AppLovin a minority shareholder in the London-based mobile games company.

This announcement follows earlier reports from March 2025, which suggested Tripledot was preparing to acquire AppLovin’s gaming unit in a deal worth around $900 million. However, the final deal was confirmed at a slightly lower figure, settling at $800 million instead.

With this acquisition, Tripledot will operate 12 studios across the globe in 23 cities, including Machine Zone, PeopleFun, Lion Studios, Magic Tavern, and Belka Games.

Alongside, the deal will significantly expand Tripledot’s combined user base of 25 million daily active users. The combined portfolio is estimated to generate nearly $2 billion in annual gross revenue.

Mark Beck, the CMO of Tripledot Studios, shared: “Thank you to our amazing partners and every single team member who helped make this possible. I’m beyond excited to work with our team and continue building games that bring joy to millions of players.”

It’s also worth noting that just last month, there were reports of AppLovin laying off another 97 employees at Machine Zone, which was the second round of cuts this year following 89 employees in January. It’s still unclear whether these layoffs were connected to the company’s planning around the Tripledot Studios acquisition.
