Clover Games has officially announced that it filed for corporate bankruptcy on April 9, 2026. The announcement came directly from CEO Yun Seong-kuk, who shared the news through an announcement that the South Korea-based developer is bringing an end to its operations and game services.
According to the statement, the studio had been facing severe financial difficulties for a long time. In an effort to keep things running, the team reduced costs across the board, while the CEO personally invested his own funds over the past few years to sustain operations.
“Despite severe financial difficulties, all of our executives and employees joined in cost-cutting efforts to sustain our game services, and I personally invested every available personal asset, doing everything in my power to keep the services running. However, as the depletion of our funds reached an unbearable threshold, we were forced to confront the devastating reality that we can no longer maintain the company,” shared Yun Seong-kuk.
The investment of the CEO was almost ₩3 billion (approx. $2.04 million) of his own money to keep the company running, as per the reports. However, losses eventually reached an “unmanageable limit”, making it impossible to keep the company afloat.

With this closure, several of Clover Games’ titles will be affected, including Lord of Heroes, HEAVENHELLS: Anime Squad RPG, and Ayakashi Rise: AFK Demon Hunt, all of which are set to go offline as part of the service termination.
The company has confirmed that services will begin shutting down from May 9, 2026, although there is a possibility that servers could go offline earlier depending on third-party service providers involved in hosting.
The studio has stated that it will try to keep the servers running for around a month to allow players some remaining time with the games. However, it also warned that access could be cut off earlier without notice due to legal and service-related constraints.
This marks the second such incident this year, following the shutdown of Goddess Order, which was announced in December and went offline on January 31, 2026, after its developer, PixelTribe, filed for bankruptcy.
