Voodoo has announced the launch of a new internal studio focused on developing midcore PvP mobile games. The project will be led by Alexandre Colin Noir and Antoine Colin, the twin brothers and founders behind Gemelli Games.
The announcement was shared by Alexandre Colin Noir, who confirmed that the new Paris-based studio will focus on developing competitive multiplayer mobile experiences. According to the post, the team is already taking over a prototype that has shown “excellent results” during soft launch, with long-term ambitions of building a title capable of rivaling games like Clash Royale.
As part of the expansion, Voodoo is actively hiring across multiple departments, including art, engineering, game design, product management, economy systems, QA, and production roles.
Just a couple of months ago, Alexandre Colin Noir announced the closure of indie studio Gemelli Games after four years of development. The studio had released Skygard Arena, a tactical multiplayer title on Steam that received positive reviews from players but ultimately struggled to become financially sustainable in the highly competitive PC gaming market.
At the time, Alexandre openly reflected on the challenges of running an indie studio, saying the team had likely built a game that was “too niche” for long-term sustainability despite strong execution and positive community feedback.
He also credited his twin brother and co-founder, Antoine Colin, for playing a major role throughout the journey. Even while announcing the closure of Gemelli Games, both founders hinted that they had already found a “very exciting opportunity” within the gaming industry.
This has now officially turned out to be Voodoo’s new internal studio initiative, where both had joined back in March 2026.
Voodoo’s growing interest in expanding beyond hypercasual gaming into deeper midcore and live-service experiences is also being reflected here, as the genre is a popular area where mobile publishers continue investing heavily as competition in the market evolves.
